The English students will conduct a quick write on the prompt "“Write how you felt as you watched Golding’s introduction. Do you agree with his reasoning for choosing young boys instead of young girls or a mix of both to inhabit the island? Why or Why not? Do you think there will be some type of injustice in this novel?" This will allow the teachers to assess student comprehension of the enduring understanding for the unit. 10th grade English lesson plan
Process
The History lesson will utilize the Pecha Kucha presentation application which will allow students with special needs and English Learners to present their findings with reduced anxiety they can write scripts and practice their presentation allowing students to feel more confident while contributing value to the class as a whole. 10th grade world History Lesson plan

Service Learning/Art lesson/Social Justice lesson Students will view the statue of "The Kiss" at seaport village which is the most iconic image of the end of World War II. Students will write an AXES paragraph about their experience of working with Veterans and the process of the service learning project. Students will also create their own iconic image much like "The Kiss" picture which has been transformed into art in the form of the statue at seaport village. Students will then share their created image using social media with the hashtag #warandsociety. 10th grade Service Learning/Art/Social Justice project
